Autumn Term Science
Topic 1: Evolution
In this unit, we have learned that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago. Also, we looked at how living things produce offspring of the same kind, but normally offspring vary and are not identical to their parents. Then, we looked closely at how animals and plants are adapted to suit their environment in different ways and that adaptation may lead to evolution.
Topic 2: Light
In this unit, we have learned about how we see light and how the different parts of the eye have a different role in how we see. We explored shadows and reflections during this topic by conducting our own experiments to prove or disprove a hypothesis. From our learning of shadows and understanding the best materials to use which would result in the best shadows, we were able to make shadow puppets.
